About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and mechanically inclined Test Technician to support vehicle testing and development for a leading manufacturer in the powersports industry. This position is based in Roseau, MN, a hub for innovation and engineering excellence in snowmobile design and performance. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge snowmobile products in a collaborative and hands-on environment.
Job Description As a Test Technician, you will work closely with cross-functional teams including NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness), Structural Test, Chassis, and Powertrain to support product development and validation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting mechanical and NVH testing of vehicle components and systems.
- Setting up and executing tests, collecting and analyzing data.
- Assisting in root cause analysis and resolution of product development issues.
- Maintaining and calibrating test equipment and lab systems.
- Supporting design improvements through component validation and feedback.
- Operating snowmobiles in controlled testing environments (not limit testing).
- Collaborating with engineering and product development teams.
Qualifications Required Qualifications - Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate snowmobile products.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with seasonal travel (up to 25%).
Preferred Qualifications - 2-year technology degree.
- 2+ years of related technical experience.
- Experience in powersports or snowmobile systems.
- Familiarity with sound measurement and data acquisition techniques.
- General fabrication skills (e.g., welding, machining).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- CDL or willingness to obtain for transporting test equipment.
- Understanding of lab safety protocols and PPE compliance.
- Passion for snowmobiles and ability to thrive in a small-town setting.
