Sr. Red Hat Linux Administrator

Description:

We are seeking a Sr. Red Hat Linux Administrator consultant to manage and optimize the AOC’s Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments. The resource will be responsible for ensuring system stability, security, and performance while supporting a range of enterprise applications.

This role requires advanced expertise in Linux administration, automation, troubleshooting, and security best practices. Responsibilities include:
Installing, configuring, and maintaining RHEL servers across development, testing, and production environments; performing system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening; monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues; implementing automation scripts using Ansible, Bash, or Python; configuring and maintaining Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management, and other RHEL tools; collaborating with security teams; maintaining and optimizing storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions; supporting application teams; maintaining system documentation; participating in on-call support and incident resolution; setting up NFS and mount points; configuring Cron jobs for systems and applications.

Requirements:

7 system environments and Red Hat Support experience.
Strong ability to work in a team environment, communicate effectively, demonstrate leadership, interface with users and helpdesk, and troubleshoot at the OS, database, and application levels.
Required education: Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in engineering, computer science, or related field (as determined by the AOC).
Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (valid certification number required).
Experience with OpenEdge, Apache Web Servers, vSphere hosted RHEL Servers, Rubrik backup systems, PeopleSoft, Mobius, Elastic Search, Oracle OBICVS, Red Hat performance tuning, load balancing, partitioning, and backup of Database Servers.
15+ years of experience in IT.
10+ years of Red Hat system administration including configuration and tuning.
10+ years administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems.
Experience working in a complex networked environment.
Experience administering systems including Oracle WebLogic Servers, Oracle Database Servers, Progress 4GL.
