Ancestry is looking for a Senior Specialist, Communications to join our team. This position will report to our Director of Corporate Responsibility and Communications.

What You'll Do..

  • As part of the Ancestry Communications team, this person will support communications strategy and priorities
  • Assist with integrated communications campaigns, including engagement with internal partners, Ancestry customers, and our communications agency
  • Draft press materials, handle inbound media requests, and proactively build relationships with reporters, editors, and influencers
  • Develop and pitch creative, culturally relevant story angles that make family history timely and accessible to new audiences
  • Draft blog posts and press materials
  • Conduct market analysis, research industry trends, and monitor media coverage
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of media events and media briefings
  • Provide general administrative support to the PR team

Who You Are..

  • 2+ years communications/public relations experience, preferably with communications agency
  • Basic media relations understanding and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and build trusted relationships

As a signatory of the ParityPledge in Support of Women and the ParityPledge in Support of People of Color, Ancestry values pay transparency and pay equity. We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position: $57,780 - $72,270 with eligibility for bonus, equity and comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision. The actual salary will vary by geographic region and job experience. We will share detailed compensation data for a specific location during the recruiting process.
