Job Description

Note: This position is located in Rhode Island

Job Summary:

The Providence Center Research Assistant will work with a multidisciplinary team of psychologists on a five-year NIH-funded project using intensive longitudinal data (i.e., wearable biosensors and ecological momentary assessment surveys) to identify immediate predictors of return to substance use and related harms during the period of community re-entry following residential substance use treatment.

Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, administer and adhere to the research protocol in the acquisition and management of participant information for this research project.

Examples include: coordinating with the recruitment sites and staff, conducting participant interviews, preparing and maintaining study records, and entering study data. Opportunities to participate in manuscripts development and conference presentations and posters will be available.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct recruitment of research participants.

Screen potential participants for study eligibility.

Conduct structured diagnostic interviews.

Administer computerized self-report questionnaires.

Train participants to complete mobile app surveys.

Fit participants with wearable biosensor and train on their use.

Monitor compliance of mobile app surveys and wearable biosensors.

Utilize tactics to enhance compliance and retention.

Administer qualitative interviews to research participants.

Enter data and maintain databases.

Support day-to-day clerical operations in support of research.

Support manuscript preparation.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field required.

Must have own transportation, insured auto and valid driver's license and be willing to commute to and from research sites in the state of Rhode Island.

Minimum one years' experience working in psychological research required.

Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills required.

Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills required.

Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations required.

Demonstrated experience with human subjects research with populations characterized by substance use preferred.

Demonstrated familiarity with diagnostic assessments for trauma and alcohol use preferred.

Demonstrated experience with ecological momentary assessment and Demonstrated experience with wearable biosensors preferred.
