In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This program temporarily reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary ranges shown on this job posting do not reflect the salary reduction.
This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by performing a wide variety of the more complex analytical assignments such as reviewing data application requests received from CDPH programs, other State departments and agencies, local County Health Departments, and the public.
The Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) independently responds to telephone calls and e-mails from data requesters; updates the county tracking database; assists with preparing agendas from structured templates, meeting minutes, and informational material for the monthly Vital Statistics Advisory Committee (VSAC) meetings. The incumbent generates invoices for vital statistics data provided to customers, provides routine vital statistics data to requesters, and acts as a backup to maintain the branch internet web pages.
The incumbent works under the direction of the Staff Services Manager II, Chief of the Vital Statistics Administration Section (VSAS).
This is a Limited Term position that may be extended or become Permanent.
