Role The Principal C++ Software Engineer will: Develop cutting-edge solutions to enhance the performance of current and next-generation Protium prototyping platforms. Design and implement highly efficient C++ algorithms that leverage multi-threading and distributed computing for handling multi-billion gate designs. Work on advanced clocking, user-constraint support, and timing-driven optimizations to improve performance, compile time, and congestion management. Utilize best practices in software engineering, including documentation, coding standards, memory and runtime profiling, coverage analysis, and unit testing, to develop high-quality commercial software. Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills while collaborating with international teams across multiple time zones. Position Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, a Master’s degree with at least 5 years of experience, or a PhD with at least 1 year of relevant experience. Background in EDA applications, including synthesis, place and route, timing analysis, and optimizations. Proficiency in C++ programming with expertise in object-oriented design, multi-threaded programming, and distributed computing. Familiarity with Verilog or System Verilog and a solid understanding of digital circuit design. Compensation and Benefits The annual salary range for this role in California is $131,000 to $244,000. Additional incentive compensation may include bonuses, equity, and benefits. Sales roles typically offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive structure. Compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
