Reports To: Manager - Quality Lab

SHIFT - Day Shift: Tuesday - Saturday (6:45am - 3pm)

What You Will Do:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented microbiologist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our quality control laboratory department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, efficacy, and quality of our cosmetic products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microbiology, particularly in the context of cosmetic manufacturing processes. The Microbiologist is responsible for quality control of raw materials, bulk, and finished goods.

What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Microbiology required .
  • Experience with rapid microbiological testing methods is preferred.
  • Experience in a microbiology lab is required.

  • Position requires the application of good aseptic technique during testing of samples and high level of attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of cosmetic formulation and production processes.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques is preferred.

Key Job Accountabilities:

Microbial Testing and Analysis

  • Conduct routine and in-depth microbial testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished cosmetic products.
  • Perform environmental monitoring of manufacturing facilities to ensure compliance with cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Investigate and address deviations, non-conformances, and out-of-specification results related to microbiological aspects.
  • Knowledge of method transfer for microbiological testing methods and method suitability for new product launch formulas.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all microbiological testing and analysis performed.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing microbiological findings and make recommendations for corrective actions as needed.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards governing cosmetic microbiology, including FDA and other international regulatory requirements.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory requirements to update and improve testing protocols.

Training and Education

  • Provide training and guidance to manufacturing and quality control personnel on microbiological best practices and procedures.
  • Stay informed about new developments in microbiology and share knowledge with the team.
