SUMMARY: Assists in developing the organization’s health, safety, and security programs. Conducts regular on-site facility safety and security walks for compliance while providing a fluid education regarding OSHA guidelines and proper safety and security measures. Investigates the root causes of accidents, incidents and security breaches and reports the findings with corrective actions while working cross-functionally through the life cycle of the incident / accident. Safety and security resource for the entire organization. Actively supports the Company’s vision and goals and embraces and executes the Company Core Values.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following, other duties may be assigned:

• Develop and facilitate health, safety, and security programs throughout the organization.

• Conduct safety and security walks for compliance while providing a fluid education on OSHA guidelines and proper safety and security measures.

• Owns all activities and deliverables related to ISO 14001.

• Build relationships and company brand with local law enforcement and fire houses, offering tours and establishing regular touch base sessions to remain attentive to activity in the community.

• Ability to learn and quickly establish professional relationships with all team members.

• Responsible for emergency related drills to prepare for natural disasters and emergency situations.

• Effectively work as a positive change agent cross-functionally while driving cultural shifts within the business.

• In collaboration with cross-functional partners, actively participate in creating documented work instructions and business practices related to workplace safety and security.

• Regularly monitor team members’ access points through property walks and the usage of facility cameras.

• Create and lead a safety committee in partnership with peers for company consistency.

• Drive recognition programs around safety and security for all team members.

• Analyze data to provide continual improvements with the company’s safety and security efforts.

• Specifies the procurement and maintenance of safety equipment inventory to ensure that onsite team members have adequate protection from workplace hazards.

• Review the procurement of chemicals and materials purchased for production, including the maintenance of the library of SDS’ (safety data sheets) for these.

• Manage the accumulation, collection, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste.

• In partnership with the HR team follow the law and Company process for workers compensation documentation and logs capturing the incident and accidents for the Company.

• Responsible for all visitors’ procedures, logs, badges etc. throughout the location(s).

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No direct reports.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Prior related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Telephone communication. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence with proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. Ability to speak effectively with other team members.
