Our Client Services team provides tailored advisory and analysis services. 4MATIV works hand in hand with education organizations to design flexible, local solutions that meet the needs of every learner. We partner with school districts to optimize transportation systems, identify efficiencies, and design lasting solutions. We support some of the nation’s largest public school districts and charter organizations as trusted mobility advisors. Our projects aim to enhance client understanding and empower them to drive meaningful system improvements. POSITION OVERVIEW

4MATIV is a rapidly growing company with an increasingly broad portfolio of consulting clients. We’ve released several new solutions in the past year with demonstrated product-market fit. Demand for these solutions is growing quickly, so we are adding capacity to the Client Services team to scale and enhance those products and our team of talented analysts. As such, candidates will have the ability to contribute greatly to the direction and operation of this team and business function. We’re looking for someone that is enthusiastic, willing to bring new ideas, and looking to learn and grow alongside the company.

The Data Analyst & Product Engineer will play a key role in delivering impactful, data-driven product solutions to school districts and state education agencies. This team member will focus on analytics, product development, and optimization strategies for school transportation systems.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and quick learner, analytically gifted, user-centered, and has a drive for creative optimization. The candidate will be able to handle a variety of analytical and product engineering tasks from beginning to end, including, but not limited to: design and maintenance of transportation performance dashboards, descriptive analysis of student transportation system performance and configuration, geospatial analysis and visualization, cost optimization modeling, and impact estimation. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and improve client-facing performance dashboards and other tech-enabled solutions, transforming legacy products into scalable and agile solutions.
  • Lead assigned analysis projects from start to finish, delivering results on time while collaborating effectively with colleagues on resources and timelines.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis with self-direction and accuracy, building models to optimize transportation operations and enhance efficiency for school systems.
  • Develop and run reusable Python scripts to automate processes and conduct data analysis.
  • Write SQL queries to find, clean, and maintain data across multiple sources.
  • Design self-service in-house optimization tools using Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Apps Script to streamline transportation planning tasks.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across systems.
  • Summarize, visualize, and present findings to clients in a clear, concise, and engaging manner.
  • Communicate methodologies, assumptions, results, and the significance of analyses through clear written reports and presentations.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand client needs and challenges, translating these into actionable data insights to guide decision-making and strategic initiatives.
  • Uphold and contribute to the continuous improvement of company code documentation standards and data governance policies, ensuring data quality, privacy, and security.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Two (2) years of analytic experience in a relevant field
  • Experience in data operations in the transportation, logistics, or K-12 Education preferred

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Python & SQL
  • Proficiency working with data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Proficiency working with APIs
  • Experience with Microsoft Admin management
  • Experience with GIS software
