Job Description

The Central Valley Community Foundation has been a trusted leader in local philanthropy for nearly 60 years. As the only nationally accredited community foundation serving Merced, Mariposa, Madera, Fresno, Tulare and Kings counties, we are exclusively dedicated to this region. We offer donors innovative and flexible charitable tools and help maximize the impact of their giving. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Chief Impact Officer to join our Executive Leadership Team. The Chief Impact Officer will be responsible for ensuring that the programmatic direction set by the President/CEO and approved by the CVCF board of directors is implemented with excellence and that the Impact Team activities are well coordinated with the Advancement and Stewardship Team.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide general supervision, leadership, and staff development for the Impact Team, ensuring annual goals are achieved.
  • Represent the Impact Team to the board of directors and its committees, personally or by directing staff engagement.
  • Represent the scope and depth of CVCF’s programmatic work in presentations to funders, policymakers, local partners, donors/fundholders and residents.
  • Identify and propose opportunities for CVCF to further manifest its mission, vision, and values through its programmatic work.
  • Lead development of new programmatic initiatives for CVCF, from ideas to execution.
  • Identify goals and schedules for program development activities and facilitate the achievement of goals by staff in collaboration with external partners.
  • Support efforts to secure resources to enable the continuation and growth of CVCF’s regional impact.
  • Oversee the implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems alongside programs that provide a platform for accountability to programmatic equity goals, continuous improvement, community co-ownership, help ensure the Advancement Team has relevant information on learnings and outcomes for effective communications.
  • Identify and develop non-grant strategies and opportunities for capital deployment; and,
  • Ensure CVCF and CVCF grantees comply with grant and contract terms; ensure communication and coordination between program and financial/administrative teams.
  • Identify, implement, and oversee measures and systems to manage workload, avoid errors, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain legal compliance in CVCF’s management of its programs and projects.

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Four-year undergraduate college degree in public administration, public policy, public health, education, or economics, or another closely related field required (master’s degree preferred)
  • Eight to ten years of professional experience in public policy development, community and economic development, multi-sector, collective impact work, including building and supporting large coalition of diverse partners or related field with progressive management responsibilities.
  • Proven analytical abilities and reporting skills including grant management, tracking, and compliance.
  • Advanced computer and office skills including exceptional customer service and strong diplomacy skills to collaborate effectively with donors, grantees, community members, board members, management, and staff.
  • Basic understanding of IRS and foundation-specific regulations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, vendors, or employees of the organization.
  • Sound judgment regarding budget and program issues with excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, under pressure and in a changing environment, demonstrating interest and respect for diverse perspectives.
  • An ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Able to troubleshoot, analyze, and problem-solve by seeing the big picture, focus on the vision and mission, and apply what he/she has learned to future projects.
  • Ability to interact with the public, answer questions, maintain a professional appearance, and use wisdom and discretion in all interactions with the public.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing organizational needs.
  • Ability to maintain a positive approach and attitude throughout the workday.
  • Current California driver's license, valid vehicle registration and insurance required for driving on company business.

Position offers a competitive salary between $154,193 - $199,000 annually with a generous benefits plan including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Vacation, Sick Time, and 403(b) with Company match.
