Audio Recordist Engineer

Sony Pictures Animation is seeking an experienced Audio Engineer to join our team on a daily hire basis. This role will focus on providing recording engineering services, including scratch audio for animation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sound recording, mixing, and working in a collaborative environment, particularly for animation, voiceover, and related audio processes.
Sony Pictures Animation is a pre-production animation studio based in Los Angeles, California, creating both feature animation and animated series with artists from around the world. **Responsibilities:**
+ Operate and maintain all audio equipment for recording sessions.
+ Set up and break down recording sessions for animation voice talent, ensuring optimal audio quality.
+ Work closely with the production team to ensure the best quality of recordings.
+ Manage and capture voiceover sessions, collaborating with directors and talent to achieve the desired performance.
+ Ensure proper audio signal flow and troubleshoot any issues that arise during recording.
+ Perform basic audio editing when needed to clean up recordings.
+ Organize and label audio files for later use in post-production.
+ Maintain a clean and organized recording environment.
+ Work within tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
**Qualifications:**
+ Proven experience as a recording engineer.
+ Strong technical knowledge of sound recording equipment, DAWs (Pro Tools, etc.), and audio file management.
+ Ability to work efficiently and independently while taking direction and feedback from multiple stakeholders.
+ Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
+ Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent audio quality.
+ Flexible and adaptable to varying studio needs and workflows.
**Preferred Skills/Experience:**
+ Experience working in a studio environment.
+ Familiarity with sound editing and mixing.
+ Experience in creating custom audio setups for unique recording needs.
The anticipated base salary for this position is $63,589/year - $82,665/year. This role may also qualify for incentives and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
