Activities Director

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Activities Director to lead and coordinate a variety of programs and events that enhance the quality of life for our residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for community engagement, event planning, and working with diverse groups of people. This role requires creativity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to foster a fun and inclusive environment.
Design and implement engaging activities and events that cater to the interests and needs of residents.
Develop a yearly calendar of activities, including recreational, educational, cultural, and social events.
Oversee the activities budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and maintaining cost-effective programming.
Work closely with staff, volunteers, and community partners to enhance programming and ensure a diverse range of offerings.
Create promotional materials, utilize social media, and develop outreach strategies to increase participation in activities.
Recruit, train, and supervise staff and volunteers involved in activities and programs, fostering a positive team environment.
Regularly assess the effectiveness and impact of activities, gathering feedback from participants and making adjustments as needed.
Ensure that all activities comply with relevant health, safety, and legal regulations.
Foster relationships with local organizations and businesses to enhance program offerings and community involvement.
- Proven experience in event planning, program management, or recreational activities 2 years preferred).
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Creativity and ability to think outside the box to engage participants.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic social media platforms; familiarity with event planning software is a plus.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience working with Senior populations
- Knowledge of community resources and local organizations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenges effectively.
